Frequently Asked Questions

Lash extensions consist of individual synthetic lashes attached directly to natural lashes using a semi-permanent bonding adhesive.
Each lash, or up to 5-10 super fine extensions, is meticulously applied to a single isolated lash, allowing for unrestricted movement of both the eyelashes and eyelids. The precise application is done one by one with specialised tweezers, and the duration typically ranges from 1 to 2.5 hours, depending on the quantity of lashes and the chosen set type.

It takes around 5-6 weeks before every lash sheds, though an infill is needed at around 2-3 weeks. The longevity of lash extensions is mainly based on how well they are taken care of. A good, consistent aftercare routine can greatly lengthen the amount of time eyelash extensions last.
It may be interesting to note that everyone's lashes, much like the hair on your head, go through a life cycle and naturally shed. When a natural lash completes its life cycle, it naturally falls out, bringing the extension with it. Although everyone's lash cycle varies slightly, you can typically expect a turnover of your natural lashes every six weeks or so.

Maintaining your aftercare is vital in keeping the quality of your lash extensions. To maintain the lush, full look of your lashes, wash extensions with a lash shampoo daily. This can be bought in our salon. Avoid rubbing your eyes and refrain from using oil-based makeup removers. Gently cleanse your lashes daily and brush them with a clean mascara wand to maintain their shape. It is crucial all aftercare information given after the appointment is followed.

To keep your eyelash extensions looking fluffy and full, we recommend booking a regular infill every 2-3 weeks. Refills are to be booked when there are 40% or more of the remaining eyelash extensions. Anything less is considered a full set.
-
Simply, the answer is NO. Performing eyelash extensions and eyelash extension removals on your own is very dangerous. Eyelash extensions are a very intricate and complex process which must only be conducted by professional lash technicians. Eyelash extension glue can cause severe eye irritation if used incorrectly. As well as a chemical reaction, imprecise application of eyelash extensions can lead to a great loss of natural eyelashes.

Every individual is different. Skin types, hormones, amount of makeup worn, sleeping positions and use of products containing oil are the main factors that affect lash retention, along with aftercare of course.
Someone with drier skin that wears less makeup will typically get a longer retention with their extensions compared to someone with oily skin that wears makeup daily.

It's uncommon for lashes to be damaged after lash extensions when applied by experienced and careful technicians. In some cases, inexperienced technicians may use lashes that are too heavy or clumped together, failing to isolate each lash correctly. This improper technique can lead to damage.
At Elite Beauty Haus, our priority is to provide you with consistently beautiful lashes, without compromising the health of your natural lashes. We customise the weight and thickness of your lash extensions to suit you, applying them individually with precision to ensure the well-being of your natural lashes.

Not at all, provided they are applied correctly! We place significant emphasis on the careful and individual application of lash extensions to preserve the health of your natural lashes. It's important to avoid attempting self-removal of eyelash extensions, as the adhesive bond is exceptionally strong and mishandling could result in damage to your natural lashes.
Sometimes clients who have thin or fine lashes may opt for extra-long or thick lashes against our advice. While we aim to accommodate your preferences within reason, we strongly discourage this as we cannot guarantee that they will last well if they are too long or heavy for your natural lash to support. At Elite Beauty Haus, we will apply the lashes that you request within reason and always advise you if there are any issues.

At Elite Beauty Haus, we cater to the diverse needs of our clients, including those with naturally pale lashes. Our lash extension fibers, though a rich dark black, are finely crafted to seamlessly blend with your natural lashes. We do also offer brown lash extensions for those wanting to go for a more subtle and natural look.
If you have an event coming up or if you’ve booked in for one of our more natural sets, you can get your natural lashes tinted before your appointment for extra definition. Make sure you book in with us for your lash tint, as our technicians avoid any oil-based tint products that might interfere with your extensions. NOTE: though we can tint your natural lashes before a new set of lashes, we don’t recommend having a tint if you’re already wearing extensions e.g. before an infill appointment. Tints tend to soak the extensions, which may cause the glue bond to break down.

Similar to any cosmetic product, there's a chance of an allergic reaction to the adhesive used in lash extensions. Fortunately, such reactions are extremely rare and typically resolve swiftly once the extensions are taken off. If you've experienced an allergic reaction (like swollen, red, or puffy eyelids), we, ethically, cannot apply further lashes, as it increases the likelihood of recurring and potentially more severe reactions.
In case of an allergic reaction, it's important to seek medical advice before scheduling an appointment to remove the extensions. While we can't offer medical guidance, some doctors might advise against immediate removal to avoid additional irritation caused by the solvents used. If you had an allergic reaction elsewhere and want your lashes removed, we can only proceed with an appointment if you provide a doctor's certificate recommending immediate removal. In other instances, it's advisable to contact the original salon where you made your booking.
